About

Rhode Island Harbor is a statewide news publication covering the people, government, businesses and communities of the Ocean State. Our coverage spans Providence, the Blackstone Valley, Newport County, South County and the islands, with reporting on politics, business, communities, food and culture, travel, beauty and wellness, sports, arts and opinion.

We aim for clear, compact, professional reporting that reflects Rhode Island as it actually is — a small, densely connected state with distinct neighborhoods, working waterfronts and a coastline that shapes policy well beyond the summer tourist season.

Our Approach

Rhode Island Harbor is built to scale with the state it covers. Our Markdown-based publishing system supports an unlimited number of articles across every category, community and region, with no artificial cap on how much we can publish.
